Latest Updates from Our Project:

Good news from Dunkeldorf!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Nov 12, 2020 at 08:54:41 PM

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since the last update, but that doesn’t mean that things haven’t been happening behind the scenes! Things are going well, and I’ll try to quickly sum everything up to avoid too long an update for you to read through.

Production Status

A few days ago we received 5 big boxes filled with resin casts, this is about 70% of everything we have ordered and the remaining 30% should arrive before the end of the month. There’s also 1 or 2 shipments of metal left. After that we have everything here with us and are ready to start packing, 2 whole months earlier than we had anticipated! Our casters have really done an incredible job and we're so happy that all of you will be getting your miniatures soon :D

Thia the Halfling Trapper

Gaerhart Scheeman, Gong Farmer

In the last update we talked about the new model Gaerhart and how we were hoping that we’d be able to surprise some of you by randomly including this model for free with 50 pledges. The good news is that this will indeed be possible for us as we now have the printed model and he’s on the way to the caster and they’ll be able to cast the copies in time.

The printed model of Gaerhart

The even better news is that we have decided to include 100 copies with random pledges instead of 50, so even more of you will receive this jolly guy ;) - Those of you who end up missing out on this one will be able to order him in our webshop next year or as an add-on in the next Dunkeldorf Kickstarter campaign.

Packing Preparations

We have dedicated an entire room to Dunkeldorf packing and over the last couple of weeks we have gotten it prepared. There’s still some work left for us to do before we’re ready. As you can see in the picture below, we’re sorting the miniatures like this. This picture includes 18 different miniatures, but we have a total of 47 different miniatures that you could choose between for this campaign, plus 30 different sets of animals, accessories, furniture and such. We have prepared 3 shelving units to keep everything organized and to make packing easier for us.

From Beluar to Mats, the crazed maker of hats.

Each container stores around 150 miniatures, so nowhere room enough for all the miniatures of each type. On the other wall in the room there are stacked boxes with all the remaining miniatures. So yea, we basically have a Dunkeldorf room in our house right now :D

Need a bench?
Perhaps a table to go with your bench?

What’s left?

We’re currently putting the finishing touches on the stickers and the map of The Prancing Peacock and will be sending those for printing soon. The stickers have been approved, so it’s just the final printing. Mustafa is drawing the last couple of things for the map of the Prancing Peacock Inn, and afterwards I’ll finish the A3 design/map setup, do some test prints and then send the map for printing as well. All of this should be timed pretty good with when the last casts arrive.

Dunkeldorf's Red Light District

In a few weeks we will send out another update before we start packing orders, with final information on shipping, address changes and all that stuff. Our plan is still to ship out all UK pledges as soon as possible to avoid Brexit issues and delays.

We’ll also be revealing a bit of information soon about the next Dunkeldorf Kickstarter launching in 2021 and we’re pretty excited to start sharing some details on the project with you! Our plan is to include some teaser concept art and such with your pledges.

That's it for tor this time! Next update coming around the end of November/Early December shortly before we lock addresses.

The Community Character & Production Status!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Oct 15, 2020 at 04:20:01 AM

Hi everyone! It's time for the latest Dunkeldorf news and just in case you're too busy to read the entire update, don't worry, there's only good news in it :D

The Production

Not much has changed when it comes to the production, things are still looking good for early delivery in December. The metal production is going very well and we have gotten A LOT of stuff delivered. We're 95% sure that all the metal is ready before December.

We have not received any resin yet except for test casts, but the first large parcel is expected to arrive at the end of this month, as we have just gotten confirmation from the resin caster today that everything is going well and they're on schedule. The second and final delivery should be delivered before December.

Early Shipping in December?

December is the busiest month of the year for Nana and I, as our webshop always has an increased amount of orders. We had originally wanted to avoid shipping out the Kickstarters in December because of this, but now that the production is going so well, we decided to do it nonetheless and aim for an early delivery!

We can't promise that all pledges will be shipped out in December, as we may not have the time to pack all our regular webshop orders and all the Kickstarter pledges at the same time.

Under all circumstances, the most important thing for the possibility of an early delivery is that BOTH the resin and metal have been delivered. So for now we still can't make any promises, but only give an estimate :)

Address Changes & Delivery Time

Once we know for sure if the early delivery is possible or not, we'll start locking addresses. For now you can log into the Pledge Manager and change your address if you're about to move. Should you move around the time we start shipping out the pledges, just contact us and we'll sort it out :)

We want to already now mention that we've experienced some long delivery times this year with parcels to some countries due to the corona situation. We expect that this can still cause delays once we start shipping out the pledges.

All of the shipments will be tracked, but they can still be delayed or get stuck somewhere for some time and some of you may have to be extra patient in these times if an unforeseen delay occurs, more so when we ship out in the busiest courier time of the year!

The Community Character

During the Kickstarter campaign a character suggestion came up several times. Garrett Sheehan suggested a "Gong Farmer" - We and many others liked that suggestion very much, so we decided to add a Gong Farmer to Dunkeldorf. So bid "Gaerhart Scheeman, Gong Farmer" welcome to the town!

Sculpted by Sonny Bundgaard

We are planning on releasing him as a single release in 2021 and as an Add-on in the next Dunkeldorf Kickstarter (More info on that coming soon), BUT! We hope that we might be able to get some copies of him before we start shipping out the Kickstarter pledges.

If we manage to get the copies in time, we will include them in random pledges, just like we did with the Dunkeldorf Mugs in our first Kickstarter. If the plan works out and we manage to get the casts before we start sending out pledges, we will be shipping out a total of 50 casts of Gaerhart Scheeman with random pledges!

Concept by Christian Schwager

Here's the "lovely" artwork concept by Christian. Nana, Sonny and I decided to add a few extra details to the character/sculpt so, as Nana have put it, there'd be more colours to add besides brown when painting him... Gotta make that Gong Farmer stand out once he's on the tabletop!

That's it for this time, we'll be back within a few weeks with another update :)

Pledge Manager Deadline Approaching!
over 3 years ago – Sat, Sep 19, 2020 at 05:31:07 PM

Pledge Manager Deadline

We're drawing closer to the Pledge Manager deadline (September 30) and we're still missing some completed surveys. We'll soon send out the final reminder via e-mail. If you are getting that e-mail, your pledge is not 100% completed, please let us know if you you have filled it out but are still getting the reminder and we'll help getting it sorted out.

Should you miss the deadline, we'll of course still send out your pledge, but you'll be moved to the back of the queue, so you'll receive your pledge later than most other backers.

The Production Status

We have more or less locked in the final numbers for the production (We have included extra numbers due to the missing surveys and backup numbers of each cast just to be safe).

3d print of Florian the Courtesan
  • Over 13.000 of the 30 new Prancing Peacock Miniatures
  • Over 3.000 original Dunkeldorf Miniatures
  • Over 21.000 individual small accessories and pets
  • Over 10.000 pieces of resin in various sizes.

Those are the final numbers for this Kickstarter and wow, we did not expect them to end up that high when we launched it. Thanks again for all your support, we're so excited for all of you to receive the pledges and thankfully we have some good news on that front!

So far we have already received 7000 miniatures and 1000 pets. We have started organizing all of these and have prepared plenty of space for the rest of the casts to arrive, hopefully we'll have an effective system in place when it comes to fulfillment, which leads me to the good news below!

New Shipping Estimate (Take it with a grain of salt!)

Things are moving faster than we had expected with the casting and even though there's still a long way to go still, we are starting to think that we MIGHT be able to start shipping out the pledges sooner than expected.

Our estimate is that if things continue run smoothly without any delays or problems we will be able to start shipping out pledges in early December.

3d Prints of the Wall Decorations Set - The final version of the orc head will be larger!

Our original estimate was late January, so it's quite a while sooner than we had planned. But remember that we can't make any promises until Nana and I have all the casts we need to start shipping out the pledges. This project is not cast by ourselves, so it's out of our hands when it comes to speed. But we are extremely pleased with both our resin and metal casters so far and we have high hopes that this optimistic shipping estimate will stick.

In October/November we'll start talking more about shipping, address lock and all of that. No need to worry about any of that just yet. Oh and for all the UK backers, we'll make it a priority to get your pledges out as fast as we possibly can to avoid any potential BREXIT issues.

Hmm, what else?

Littleton Proudcock's lazy cousin "Halfbert" has quickly made a habit out of causing problems for the innkeeper and he actually ended up doing the same for us. Once we received the metal cast of him, we couldn't help but notice that he kept nosediving straight to the floor once his large mug was glued to the body and we tried to place him on a bench or chair. Uh oh!

We felt that it was a bit too late to go back and change the actual sculpt, but at the same time we didn't want you to receive him and experience this problem. Our solution? A halfling foot stool!

Sonny went to work and sculpted a little stool for the lazy halfling.

Halfbert now comes with a foot stool included. You may be able to use him without it, but it makes him a lot more stable. Oh and a 40mm cobblestone base just got snuck into that picture as well! Sonny has been working on new Dunkeldorf bases this week. Next year we'll be adding 20mm cobblestone and wooden floor bases for familiars/pets/children along with 40mm cobblestone and wooden floor bases for ogre sized miniatures.

Halfbert enjoying a cold ale, while safely resting his feet on a stool thus avoiding any risk of knocking his teeth out. Huzzah!

We talked about the Prancing Peacock map in the last update, unfortunately we don't have anything to show yet. Nana and I have drawn the layout of the inn (With the exception of the basement) and Mustafa has room in his schedule next month to start drawing it. We should have more news about that in the next update in October!

3d print of Dieter's cat "Adler"

That's it for this update. Have a great weekend and don't hesitate to write if you need assistance with the pledge manager! :)

Pledge Manager Deadline and Lots of Pictures!
over 3 years ago – Sat, Aug 29, 2020 at 03:53:47 AM

Hi everyone! Before we dive into this update I wanted to let you know what to expect in terms of future Kickstarter updates from now until fulfillment.

Our plan is to post Kickstarter updates with intervals at 3 to 4 weeks. These updates will include the latest information on the production status, pictures of the casts, newly painted miniatures and whatever else we have of Dunkeldorf related stuff!

The left peg leg trio!

If you don't know already, we have a community group on Facebook: The Dunkeldorf Community - Here we'll also post pictures and write about how everything is progressing.

Pledge Manager

We are at 81% completed surveys in the Pledge Manager now. The number is higher than we had expected it to be at this point, which is great!

We will lock and charge the first batch of completed surveys/pledges on September 2nd. If you have already been charged it's because you have chosen Paypal which is charged immediately - In which case you of course won't be charged again :)

September 30 is the deadline to have filled out your pledge information in the Pledge Manager. A few days after that we will charge and lock the second batch in the Pledge Manager (The ones that are completed during September).

If you have not received an e-mail for the Pledge Manager: Just send us a message and we'll get it sorted out!

An Unexpected Gift

A while back Nana and I got an unexpected gift from one of our customers and a backer of this Kickstarter. We have to admit that this is the first time this has happened to us so we were quite surprised! We were gifted with a double album (From Anton's band called MinnePack) that came with a very sweet note.

Anton's (or more correctly Sven's) note and gift

We listened to the CDs right away and we loved it. We always incorporate a lot of music into our RPG sessions and a lot of these will fit right into some of our more lively tavern sessions. We often avoid songs with lyrics as we find it a bit distracting, but since this CD is with German lyrics it works very well for us (As we don't understand most of it) :D

Here's a video of the MinnePack in action playing "In der Taverne" (In the Tavern).

While all of this might not be directly related to our Kickstarter, we thought it more than deserved a mention, especially since it fits well together with the tavern theme! I have of course asked Anton/Sven if it was okay that I included this in an update.

Early Production Status

Despite being in the very early stages of production, we have already received over 1000 miniatures (They actually just arrived a few hours ago). The casts are incredible and we are so excited for you to receive them in the near future :D

Metal casts of Olivier, "Reich" and Ulrike

All in all, everything is going incredibly well.. Almost so well that we feel that something sinister might be lurking in the shadows just waiting for us to let down our guard. Perhaps a tentacle-armed mutant will snatch up all the lovely casts or maybe a certain evil burgomeister hates to see everything go so well for us and decides to send a group of goons to rough us up and destroy the casts... You never know!

But as you can see a bit further down, even if we do have over 1000 miniatures sooner than expected, there's still a long way to go :)

Yvonne the Brawler - Sculpted by Sonny Bundgaard

With 81% completed surveys in the Pledge Manager we are currently looking at getting the following produced:

  • Over 13.000 Miniatures
  • Over 2200 Pets / Animals
  • Over 15.000 individual accessories

Those numbers are just the metal casting. Then there's the resin part as well!

Next Update

In the next update we hope to show a sneak peek of the Prancing Peacock map. Nana and I have started mapping it out and we'll soon start working together with Mustafa on any changes and additions before he'll start the inking process.

You'll probably also see the finished version of this little brat below. Nana just started painting the metal test cast of Heinz and I thought a WIP picture would fit in well for this update now that she's sitting right behind me painting him while I'm typing :D

We'll be back with an update in a few weeks, hopefully with more good news on the production, freshly painted miniatures and more! Remember to join us in the Dunkeldorf Community on Facebook to get some sneak peeks and information between these Kickstarter updates.

Important Pledge Manager Information
almost 4 years ago – Tue, Aug 04, 2020 at 04:23:12 AM

Hi everyone! This update is mostly focused on the Pledge Manager, please make sure to read through it if you're unsure how everything works.

The Pledge Manager is still being reviewed and I expect that it will be approved within a day or two, as soon as that happens the "Smoke Test" will begin which means that 5% of you will receive an e-mail with a link to the Pledge Manager.

After a little while the remaining 95% will be sent out. So all of you should be getting an e-mail for the Pledge Manager this week. Make sure to check your spam folder by the end of the week if you haven't received an e-mail!

Sculpting Status:

Sonny is still missing a bit of work on 3 more miniatures: Florian, Sabine & Yvonne. To begin with we'll be using the concept pictures in the Pledge Manager and within a few days these will be updated with the renders of the actual sculpts. Sonny has been hard at work and we have 2 finished sets and 1 additional miniature to show in this update.

The Wall Decoration Set - This set will be cast in resin and have a Kickstarter price at 55 DKK. The final size of each item may be slightly different than pictured here. We haven't done much testing yet. The stag head will certainly be pretty big and may end up being in two pieces (Plaque and the head).

Mischa the Courtesan is finished as well! But there's stiff competition (Was that an unnecessary or necessary pun?) in the Prancing Peacock as Florian the Courtesan will be ready soon.

The Adventurer's Set - There'll be 11 pieces in this set which will have a Kickstarter price at 55 DKK. We are unsure if this set will be in resin or metal, we need to talk it over with our casters before we can say for sure. So if the material is important to you, you may want to skip this set for now as we aren't sure yet.

Choosing your Miniatures:

The rest of this update will be focused on Backerkit / The Pledge Manager. Starting with how you'll be choosing the miniatures for the Patron & Innkeeper Pledges.

There are 30 new Dunkeldorf Miniatures in this Kickstarter and we also have the option of choosing miniatures from our first campaign - A total of 47 different miniatures. Last time we used the Pledge Manager we only had 17 miniatures and you would get a nice neat list with a picture of all the miniatures and then you could click the one you wanted.

Turns out that we apparently have too many miniatures for that this time. So BackerKit/the Pledge Manager has just made it even more difficult for you to choose the miniatures :D

Instead of the picture overview it'll be a dropdown list. Once you select a miniature, a small image will appear of the one you selected. The list is sorted in alphabetical order with the Prancing Peacock miniatures first and then the original Dunkeldorf miniatures after.

We have also included a Miniature Overview (Below) in this update to make it as easy for you as possible. All the information you need for the Pledge Manager should be in this update.

Miniature Overview

Here's the miniature overview of the new and old Dunkeldorf miniatures. You can click on the image for a higher resolution picture. You might find it handy to use these as reference when you're completing your pledge/survey.

Click here or on the picture for a higher resolution image
Click here or on the picture for a higher resolution image

Upgrading your Pledge

If you want to upgrade your pledge, you can do so on the first page in the Pledge Manager. Simply click on the "Switch your pledge level" link.

This might go without saying, but remember that the amount you have already pledged during the Kickstarter will act as a sort of automatic "Gift certificate" in the Pledge Manager. So if you had pledged for the Innkeeper Pledge during the Kickstarter which is 475 DKK and you want to upgrade to the "All-in: The Miniatures" pledge which is 800 DKK, the remaining amount you will need to pay is 325 DKK + Shipping and any add-ons you wish.  If you had "Overpledged" during the Kickstarter, your "Gift certificate" amount will correspoind to the total amount you pledged. (It should all be fairly straight forward and simple once you see it in the Pledge Manager)

Once you click the link a pop-up window appears where you can select a new pledge. If you change your mind you can still go back and change it.

In the example above the "All-in: The Prancing Peacock Pledge" has been selected and on the following page where you can choose Add-ons you'll see a nice overview over what the pledge you have chosen includes. Alternatively you can use the "All-in Pledge Reference" below if you're unsure what the new pledges include.

Please Note: NONE of the items in the "Accessories" section on the Add-ons page is included in any of the pledges (Except what you're getting for free as stretch goals). You will need to add these manually if you're interested in them, no matter what pledge you have chosen.

All-in Pledge Reference

With the All-in Pledges You will lose the option to choose miniatures from our first campaign (You can still get these as an Add-on) but you will get all the 30 new miniatures at a reduced price. Additional things are of course still available as Add-ons and you can choose miniatures from our first Kickstarter as add-ons

If you choose an All-in pledge you'll end up saving a considerable amount compared to buying everything individually.

The Original Dunkeldorf Kickstarter

Those of you who missed out on the first Dunkeldorf Kickstarter can grab the full set as a single bundle add-on in the Pledge Manager if you wish. Alternatively most of the items from the first Kickstarter are available individually as add-ons as well.

Miscellaneous

Address Changes?: In case some of you are moving before we ship out your pledge, you'll be able to log into the Pledge Manager and change your address, so don't worry about that. We'll tell more about that later on when it becomes more relevant. For now just fill out your current address.

Shipping: We have a flat shipping rate on all the pledges and add-ons will not add any extra shipping costs. All the parcels will be sent with tracking once production is completed and we get to fulfillment.

The Pledge Manager will be up for at least 6 weeks, we will tell you more about deadlines, when payments are charged, when the orders lock and all of that stuff in a future update later this month. Even though the deadline will be a bit into the future it's a big help for us that you fill out the survey/pledge manager relatively fast as we will then have some production numbers to get the production started as soon as possible.

I'm sitting here with a feeling of having forgotten to mention something related to the Pledge Manager.. Hopefully not, but in case I have forgotten something I will be writing it in the comment section for this update. All of the important things should be covered :)

Remember that Nana and I are always here to answer any questions or concerns related to your pledge. Any problems that may occur we'll get sorted out together with you, so don't hesitate to write to us :)
