Latest Updates from Our Project:

The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf Kickstarter
almost 3 years ago – Thu, Jun 03, 2021 at 02:41:46 AM

Hi everyone! It's been a while since the last Dunkeldorf Kickstarter update, and I guess this will be a bit of warm up for us as the third Dunkeldorf Kickstarter launches in just 1 week

To start the update off with, here's a recent picture of a packed Prancing Peacock Inn!

We hope all of you have been enjoying your Dunkeldorf Miniatures! On Wednesday when we launch The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf, it'll be exactly one year ago that we launched The Prancing Peacock campaign and we can't wait to get back to Dunkeldorf! This time we'll venture out into the streets of Dunkeldorf and see more of the shady sides the town has to offer.

The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf

Sven Wentzel, who brews a terrible ale known as "Sven's Bitter", is the main protagonist of the next campaign. Sven also happens to be the leader of a ruthless gang of thugs, known as "DB". During the Mond Festival they plan on executing "Sven's Master Plan" which will ensure that "Sven's Bitter" finally gets the recognition it deserves, and that the streets of Dunkeldorf belong to them.

Part of Sven's plan is to make sure that a certain establishment, run by a stylish halfling is put out of business once and for all. Hopefully, Sven will be able to swiftly take over the smuggling operation that the halfling is supposedly running. There's of course still the matter of getting past the daft, but quite frightening Ogre Bouncer, but he'll save that part of the planning for later. There's still a few days left to figure out the minor details.

Two of Sven's most violent henchmen are the dwarf siblings, Marik & Barik.

Mutants, Witch Hunters & Mercenaries

The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf Kickstarter won't just be about Sven & DB. As you know, from The Prancing Peacock campaign, there are Mutants hiding in the sewers of Dunkeldorf. We'll be exploring these characters and the sewers of Dunkeldorf more in this campaign too.

Albrecht, a former Nobleman, now a mutant living in hiding in the sewers of Dunkeldorf.

Mutants in a town isn't exactly a good thing.. Once the rumours start, you quickly come into the crosshairs of Witch Hunters. This leads us to the third "Faction" featured in the new campaign: Witch Hunters & Mercenaries. The two Witch Hunters, Engel Hexenspur & her protegé Johannes Koch are travelling towards Dunkeldorf together with a band of hired swords.

Upon reaching Dunkeldorf, they'll search every nook and cranny for these rumoured mutants and make sure that every last one of them is brought to a burning pyre in the middle of the town square. Any townsfolk who have been keeping silent about these mutants or have aided them in any way, will have to answer some hard questions or be set ablaze as well.

The Kickstarter!

As with our previous campaigns, we have a "Starting Lineup". We're starting out with 12 characters and hopefully we'll manage to unlock a lot of new characters during the campaign through Stretch Goals!

Many of the Stretch Goal Miniatures will be for the Mutant & Witch Hunter factions as the "Starting Lineup" is very focused on Sven and his henchmen.

The 12 Starting Miniatures for The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf

There'll be lots of Accessories, Pets & Terrain in the campaign too, and we'll be sticking to the tradition of a pet as the first free Stretch Goal. This time, instead of the attention-seeking peacock Philipp der Pfau, it will be Sven's cat "Koshka", a cat that seems to have a vendetta against poor "Lenny", Sven's most loyal henchman.

Esther the Zealot & Johannes the Witch Hunter

We're very proud of the upcoming Kickstarter and we can't wait to share it with you. We have a bunch of exciting things planned with plenty of Stretch Goals, Add-ons, Stories, Give-Aways & Events planned!

We'll have an Early Bird Pledge again, this time with a free "Community Miniature" which will be developed during the campaign based on ideas and input from backers.

If you want to be notified when the campaign is launched, you can sign up to get a notification here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kinggames/the-kingpin-of-dunkeldorf

We hope to see you back in Dunkeldorf on June 9th when "Sven's Bitter" flows in the streets and the Kingpin finally unfolds his master plan to have the town in the palm of his hand!

Give-Away Winners & The Prancing Peacock Map
about 3 years ago – Wed, Feb 24, 2021 at 02:54:07 AM

Hi everyone!

Before we head on to the map and give-away winners we wanted to share some more news about the next Dunkeldorf Kickstarter coming in a few months! We also wanted to quickly mention that a few packages have been returned to us as they could not be delivered, we'll write to those of you it concerns and get it sorted out soon :)

The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf

We have just set up the Kickstarter Pre-Launch page for the Kingpin of Dunkeldorf, click here to go to it and sign up to receive an e-mail as soon as we launch the project!

So far we have only focused on showing Sven and his gang, but as we mentioned in the last update there'll also be more Mutants and a band of Witch Hunters and Mercenaries who have come to Dunkeldorf due to rumours of mutants and other harrowing events happening in the town. We'll start showing these soon.

The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf, illustration by Christian Schwager

As with the two first campaigns, we'll have an Early Bird Pledge again and there'll be lots of new Miniatures, Accessories, Bases, Pets & Terrain Elements and hopefully a bunch of unlocked Stretch Goals!

Arnold "Nine-Toes", Barik "Kneebreaker" & Leonard "Lenny"

Below are two other members of the gang. The first is Andreas "Zahnfee" who's not the brighest among Sven's crew, but he certainly is the biggest and hardest hitting of the bunch.

Andreas has a somewhat weird "hobby" as he collects teeth. It began when he was younger, and during his very first fight, knocked out two teeth of his much older opponent. Andreas collected them from the ground and put them in his little pouch.

Andreas "Zahnfee" & Agnes "Fleischer"

Since then he has been strangely fascinated by teeth and will always try to gather a least one from every fight he's in. He does have a code though! Teeth that aren't knocked out by his own fists are "no good tooth".

Over the years Andreas' tooth pouch has grown in size and he has now begun "displaying" the most pretty and memorable of them in his room, as he gradually has to make space for new teeth in his pouch.

The lovely woman to the right is Agnes "Fleischer", we'll tell more about her later on, but she's one of the newer members to the gang and she truly enjoys the privilege of all the free "Sven's Bitter" brew.

The Prancing Peacock Map

We have uploaded the Prancing Peacock map in a higher resolution for all of you who are interested in it! Just click on the picture of the map and you'll be able to save it in higher resolution.

Click the image to see it in higher resolution

Down the road when the Dunkeldorf book becomes a reality, there'll be a chapter dedicated to the Prancing Peacock Inn where there'll be more information about the different rooms. But we wanted to quickly mention two of them here.

The Attic is usually not used for guests, but as there's packed with visitors during the Mond Festival, Littleton usually moves aside some of all his junk in the attic and prepares a few mattresses for halfling and dwarf guests.

Littleton's room (1) is one of the largest ones of the inn and despite being a halfling, he has a king size bed (Not halfling sized...) all to himself. He has a "State of the art" safe where he keeps all his money and heirlooms. The creator of the safe, Franz Jäger, has said that the safe cannot be lockpicked, even by the most talented thieves. Not wanting to push his luck, this is something that Littleton is not bragging about.

Unfortunately, Littleton ended up telling his simpleton cousin, Halfbert, and since then he has not been quiet about it and is proudly telling everyone who wants to listen about his cousin's riches locked up in his "Uncrackable safe".

Give-Away Winners!

Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments in the Give-Away update! Below you can see who will be receiving a mug :D

We'll be sending the mugs out to you soon and will use the same shipping address as we sent your pledge to. In case you have just recently moved, please let us know so we can send it to the proper address :)

Farewell for now Friends!

That's the end of the final Prancing Peacock Kickstarter update, but it's not the last you'll be seeing to the Prancing Peacock Inn and the characters from it!

Sven and his thugs have a score to settle with the innkeeper Littleton Proudcock and they're already planning to pop in for a visit soon..

Thank you all so much for having been a part of the campaign and believing in the project. We hope to see you again in a few months when the Kingpin rises to stir up trouble in Dunkeldorf!

All Pledges Shipped & Give-away!
over 3 years ago – Mon, Jan 11, 2021 at 12:43:36 AM

Hi everyone! We hope you all had a Happy New Year and enjoyed the holidays :)

It has taken us a bit longer to send out this update than planned, but we barely managed to ship out the final pledge before we were closing down for the holidays. We're now back into full drive again and wanted to send out an update to keep you posted on everything!

Shiping Status

All pledges were shipped out a while ago, and I believe the last batch was sent out on December 22, so don't be alarmed if you haven't received your pledge yet. With the current situation in the World and the busy season, it can take a while. A lot of you have already received your pledge and that's awesome! Thanks for giving us such great feedback and letting us know it has arrived safely :D

In case some of you are experiencing problems with your pledge after having received it, just send us a message here on Kickstarter/Facebook or via e-mail ([email protected]) and we'll of course sort it out!

As we have mentioned before, we do believe that some packages can delayed, so we're hoping that you don't mind being patient if this happens to you. If a package later on is deemed lost, we'll of course send out a replacement package, and we'll make sure to compensate you for the extra waiting time with some freebies!

So far we haven't gotten any packages back here, and a lot of packages appear to have arrived already. We're hoping that it goes just as smooth with the remaining ones :)

The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf

If you read the last KS update or have received your pledge, you probably know that we'll be launching the third Dunkeldorf Kickstarter this spring! Below you can see the 3d prints of two  already finished thugs, who are part of Sven's gang. Both of these wonderful guys are sculpted by Sonny Bundgaard!

Barik "Kneebreaker" one of two dwarfs in Sven's gang.

We'll of course reveal a lot more details about the next Dunkeldorf Kickstarter later on, but here's a brief summary of what it'll be all about. The primary focus of "The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf" will be Sven Wenzel and his gang of thugs, but there'll also be other characters in it. More Mutants will emerge from the sewers, and due to the rumours of these mutants, a band of Witch Hunters and their companions have come to Dunkeldorf to hunt down and burn these abominations.

Just with our other Kickstarters, there'll be plenty of Accessories, Pets & Terrain Elements as Stretch Goals and Add-ons!

Sven's most trusted henchman Leonard, better known as "Lenny"

While this Kickstarter is not as focused on the "Townsfolk" aspect as the 2 first Kickstarters, our goal is still that all of the miniatures, with the exception of the mutants, are very "Townsfolk like", so they won't be in a particular combat pose or anything like that. We want them to fit into town dioramas, and the way we envisioned Sven's gang, was that most of them are "Hanging out" on the street looking for trouble.

It's also important for us to connect the Dunkeldorf stories and elements together, and because of that, these 3 "factions" in the upcoming campaign will be linked together. Sven and his gang, especially, will be linked to the overall Dunkeldorf story and there will be connections to many previous of the Dunkeldorf personalities.

With the next Kickstarter, we'll have a higher focus adding more illustrations, and we also hope to expand on the stories about Dunkeldorf and the old and new characters living in it. We have begun searching for writers to help us out with the upcoming Dunkeldorf book and the story elements in general.

This is a completely new area for us, and hiring the right person(s) for the job, might be a bit of a challenge as we're not sure where to look! Before we start searching too thoroughly, we thought it would make sense to mention this to all of you who have helped us make Dunkeldorf possible. Perhaps you have a knack for writing as a hobby or maybe one of you is even a professional writer? You're more than welcome to send us a message if you have an interest. Everything will be written in English and since Nana and I aren't native English speakers, we're searching for writers who are very comfortable writing in English. And if you're interested in RPGs and perhaps play yourself, that would be a huge plus! (Hope that didn't narrow it down too much :D)

Give-away

The last thing in the update is about a little give-away we're having. We have a few Dunkeldorf mugs left (3 to be precise) that we would like to give away to three backers. To participate in the give-away, just write a comment in this update and include the word "mug" so we know you're actually interested and not just commenting to comment :D

Remember to switch to desktop view if you're on your smartphone to be able to see and write comments in this KS updates!

The next update will contain the digital version of the Prancing Peacock Map and we'll announce the winners of the giveaway in the same update as well :)

Some of you have asked if all of the Prancing Peacock things will become available in our webshop, and they certainly will! We can't say for sure when, but we are planning on adding them in waves over the following months, with the first wave coming up in 1-1½ month.

Everything from this and our first Kickstarter will also be available at retail price in the next Kickstarter, with a couple of Prancing Peacock bundle options.

One final thing! Remember to join us in the Dunkeldorf Community if you're on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/DunkeldorfCommunity - We would love to see your painted versions of the Dunkeldorf miniatures, if you want to share them! Thanks to all of you who are already sharing your work in the group :)

Shipping Status & The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf
over 3 years ago – Mon, Dec 14, 2020 at 12:18:30 AM

Hi everyone! Sorry we haven't written an update on shipping sooner, but we have a pretty good excuse as we've been too busy shipping pledges out! :D

Packing Status

All UK pledges have been shipped out, and hopefully they'll start showing up soon. We knew that packing the Prancing Peacock pledges would take a long time compared to the last Dunkeldorf Kickstarter, there's a LOT of stuff this time along with the option of choosing between 47 miniatures.

After the first few days, where Nana's father even helped us pack, we thought it went a bit slower than expected, but! After adjusting some things and getting used to our system we're now going through them much quicker! We're currently at 275 pledges packed now, we'll continue over the weekend and next week Nana's father will help us again to speed things up.

Helmut the Drunkard - Painted by Nana

We still can't promise how soon all pledges are packed, but right now we expect and hope that all pledges have been shipped out by December 21st.

Sonny was the first to receive the complete set of everything from the Kickstarter and he took this picture of some of the goodies!

 Relevant Shipping Information

All packages are shipped with tracking. You should receive a tracking e-mail (From Post Nord, GLS for Danish backers), so keep an eye on your inbox and spam folders. Once the parcel arrives in the destination country you'll be able to use the tracking number in the official postal service in your country.

December and January are very busy months for the postal service and with corona restrictions we can only imagine that it's much harder for them to keep up. With that in mind, please be patient with your parcels. Delays are bound to happen with some of them.

No matter what, none of you should be worried about not receiving your parcel. Should it go missing, we'll of course send out a new one, but as mentioned, you may need to be a bit extra patient with replacement packages in these times, as we need to make sure that it's not just delayed.

Hopefully the majority of parcels will arrive soon without any problems!

The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf

With the Prancing Peacock pledges being shipped out, we thought it would be a good time to properly introduce the third Dunkeldorf project. In the spring of 2021 we'll launch our third Kickstarter called "The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf"

The townsfolk of Dunkeldorf will soon learn the name of a villainous crime lord (and brewer) by the name of Sven Wenzel who together with his gang of ruthless thugs rule the Dunkeldorfian underworld.

Over the coming months we'll begin to show you a bunch of stuff that you'll be able to find in the next Kickstarter and who better to start it all off with but Sven.

Sven Wenzel, the Kingpin of Dunkeldorf - Illustrated by Christian Schwager

It's of course up to you to judge if Sven really is a bad guy... Sure, he might be the boss of a gang of violent thugs, brew a terrible bitter ale, have a burning hatred for halflings (especially that fat, lazy, ugly little one called Littleton who owns the Prancing Peacock Inn), but at the same time he seems to be the only one who's taking the rumours of dangerous mutated people living in the sewers of Dunkeldorf serious.

Sven - Sculpted by Sonny Bundgaard

We'll primarily show previews of the next Kickstarter on our Facebook and Instagram pages, but we'll of course include some pictures and information in upcoming Prancing Peacock updates too. Once we set up a Kickstarter Pre-Launch page, we'll make sure to let you know in case you're interested in the third Dunkeldorf project!

3 of Sven's Thugs - Concepts by Christian Schwager

Thank you once again to all of you who made this possible. It feels so good sending out the pledges and we're so happy with how everything has been going with the project.

We hope you'll enjoy getting your miniatures and we hope you're all getting them soon, as we can't wait to hear what you think of them :D

Have a great weekend!

Address Lock & The Prancing Peacock Inn Map
over 3 years ago – Sat, Nov 28, 2020 at 06:42:20 PM

Hi everyone! It’s almost time for us to lock the addresses now, so we can prepare to ship out the pledges. If you need to change your address, now is the time! You can log into Backerkit and change it and if you’re experiencing problems with that, just contact us and we’ll help out :)

We will lock the addresses on December 3rd (That’s a Thursday!) and we start shipping out UK pledges the following week and expect all of these to have been shipped out the same week. Afterwards we'll of course continue packing as many pledges as we can before we close down for the holidays, so all of you can receive your miniatures as fast as possible!

Should something come up and your address unexpectedly changes all of a sudden even after we have locked the addresses, just write to us and we can still get it sorted out.

A few of you still haven't completed the survey in Backerkit, if you think you're one of them, please write to us and we'll check to make sure :)

From the Dunkeldorf Community:

For those of you not part of the Dunkeldorf Community on Facebook, we thought we'd share two recent photos from there!

The first one is Heinz the Noble Kid painted by Garrett Sheehan, you know, that guy who moonlights as a gong farmer (Sorry Garrett, couldn't resist :D). Garrett along with a few other painters who had helped us paint up some of the Prancing Peacock miniatures around the time we launched the Kickstarter campaign, received a couple of early previews of the miniatures.

We're counting on all of you to be ready for a new batch when we're about to launch the third Kickstarter in 2021 :D

Anton von Schwaneck shared this beautiful wood carving piece of the Prancing Peacock sign. It'll be painted up and we can't wait to see the finished result! This is part of a larger project involving several different tavern signs such as The Green Dragon, Bugman's Bar and several others.

There are plenty of other great pictures in the community and we're hoping to see many more in the group once all of you start receiving your miniatures soon!

The Prancing Peacock Inn Map

The map is finally ready! This turned out to be a greater task than Nana and myself had initially imagined. We have put a lot of energy into the map and are pretty proud of the result, especially considering that this is the first map that we have designed and the first map that Mustafa has drawn in this style.

One of the things that made it challenging design-wise was that we wanted it to match the building illustration of the Prancing Peacock as much as possible and at the same time try to make sure that the “Common Room” looked somewhat similar to the miniature model of the inn that we have used for the diorama pictures during the campaign.

We had wanted a unique look for the building, a sort of ramshackle'ish building (But still looking good), heavily expanded on over the years since it was first built. The goal was that it should appear messy, with several floors and different distinct areas of the overall building. This made it a bit more tricky designing the map, compared to a more traditional building.

We had originally planned that the map would contain the basement of the Prancing Peacock too, but ultimately we felt that it would be overwhelming with so many elements on it and decided to make the basement a bit of a “Mystery element” instead, which can be explored in the future. The Prancing Peacock Inn will play a small role in the next Dunkeldorf Kickstarter as well and the basement may be mentioned there as some of the upcoming characters explore it.

If you didn't add the A3 print of the map to your pledge and are now regretting it after seeing how it actually looks, you can hurry up and write us a message and we can unlock your pledge to give you a chance to add it to your pledge.

Another update will be posted in December or January with some more details/descriptions on the map areas along with a high resolution PDF and JPG version of the map for all of you to download.

What are we missing?

What are we missing before we start shipping out? Well, not much!

Picture of Sabine & Gaerhart straight from our casters
  • The final package from the metal casters, containing Sabine (She had an issue and the lantern handle had to be slightly redesigned), Gaerhart the freebie miniature that 100 of you will receive and a few extra sets of accessories. All of this will arrive early next week.
  • The second and last parcel of resin arrived two days ago (So we're not missing that. Why am I listing this? I don't know!)
  • The A3 prints of the Prancing Peacock Inn Map along with some printed teasers for our next Kickstarter coming in 2021. These will be sent for printing this weekend and should arrive within a few workdays if they deliver in the usual timeframe.

And finally we have a bit of sorting left, but the Dunkeldorf packing room is almost ready for business now!

Unless something urgent comes up, we probably won't send out another Kickstarter update until we have started shipping out the pledges, but the next update will contain all the information regarding everything related to shipping. If anything minor comes up we'll post it in the comment section and on Facebook! :)
